DKARS HF Weak Signal Day



On Saturday 10 March 2018 the first DKARS HF Weak Signal Day will be held in Kootwijkerbroek.

This day is organised for all radio amateurs who like to work on HF bands and are interested in Weak Signal DX, contesting, working many different countries, but also amateurs who like to build their own radio systems. Building equipment, antennas and a complete station. Amateurs who like to challenge themselves and enjoy the amateur radio hobby radio as part of their lives



On this day different presentations are given by well known and enthusiastic radio amateurs who have extensive experience in their field. From contesting on 160 meters to working with WSJT at 60 meters, a QRP beacon at 80 meters and WSPR experiments with the Red Pitaya and a story about construction equipment and antennas. All of these different possibilities in our hobby will be presented during this day.



Of course, there are possibilities to meet and talk to fellow Hams and discuss our hobby and learn from each other or gain some new ideas. The day is held in the village house of Kootwijkerbroek, De Essenburcht, Schoonbeekhof 1, 3774 DA Kootwijkerbroek. During the whole day coffee and different sandwiches are available at a very reasonable prices. We will have two rooms available for the meeting, one room for the presentations and the second for demonstrations from the Surplus Radio Society and the QRP club. In the second room there is opportunity for eyeball QSO and drinks and lunch will be available in this room.



 The preliminary program looks like this:

Meeting room is open at 10.00

  • 10.30 uur - Opening of the Weak Signal Day
  • 10.45-12.00 – Presentation by Henk, PA1A: building with passion
  • 12.00-13.00 – lunch
  • 13.00-14.00 – Presentation by Remco, PA3FYM: contesting on 160 meter band
  • 14.00-14.30 – Presentation by Robert, PA0RYL: The CW QRP baken on 80 mtr
  • 14.30-15.30 – Presentation by Henk, PA2S: 60 mtr WSJT experience and propagation research
  • 15.30-16.00 – short break for koffie or thee
  • 16.00-17.00 – Presentation by Hans, PA0EHG: 5 bands transmitter for WSPR using the Red Pitaya
  • 17.00 uur end of the day
